There are so many factors that distinguish the different types of paper.
Finish - The finish is the surface texture of the paper, basically this is how the paper feels or the effect perceived.
Brightness – The brightness is the amount of light the paper reflects.
Weight – This is how much the paper weighs. It refers to its thickness and pounds.
Opacity – This is determined by how much ink will be absorbed into the paper or may show through. It is important to use a paper with good opacity so that you don’t have the “show through” on your projects.
Now let’s take a look at a few ways that you can get creative with different types of paper.

Coated papers work the best for reproducing fine detail and because of the hard surface, colors print much more vibrant than uncoated papers.
You may have not noticed that all of the samples provided are on some type of white paper. Just because your paper is white does not mean your final product has to be boring. White is so versatile! Using ink we can create the design you’re looking for without you ever knowing it was printed on white paper.
Colored paper and even ivory (off white) will affect how your image or logo turns out, so if your colors are important be sure you stay with white paper.
When choosing paper, it is also important to keep in mind that colors tend to dull on an uncoated paper whereas gloss intensifies your color.
